Riverstone
Farm is a small farm dedicated to the breeding of Dutch Warmbloods
and Oldenburgs. It is owned and operated by Jan Downs-Barrett,
her husband Rich and their eight-year-old son, Grant. The farm is
located in scenic Upper Bucks County in a tiny river town called
Riegelsville. While rural and charming, it is conveniently located
near the Lehigh Valley International Airport, New York and Philadelphia.
The
farm itself is on an old riverbed that used to be part of the
Delaware River. The Riegel family built the old fieldstone farmhouse
in the later part of the 1800s. There are multiple historic outbuildings
still standing on the farm adding to the beauty and sense of going
back in time.
At
Riverstone Farm, the Downs-Barretts are excited to offer a breeding
program committed to producing excellent sport horses. The breeding
program is based on some of the very best European bloodlines
from Holland and Germany. There is an emphasis on quality, athleticism,
rideability and temperment. All of the horses have an excellent
quality of life, which, in turn, makes them happy, willing horses!
